FOREWORD
| Any good book must have a story, an author, as well as a message. Unless it is fiction, the story must be true, the author genuine, and the message have an impact. It is my opinion that The Crushed Rose has all three of these. This book has a powerful message, from the pen of a woman who is sincerely genuine in her everyday life. I believe Shelley’s story will touch every person who chances to read it. In music, literature, and scripture, great compositions have come out of most unusual experiences. The ability to write about those encounters can provide inspiration to readers of all ages. This was true with King David, Saint Paul, the Apostle John, Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther, John Wesley, and many others. Their experiences endeared the Lord to them, enabling them to write and share His goodness with others. I believe this is what Shelley has accomplished in this writing. I have known her for nearly 35 years. I have found her continually to be a loving, compassionate, godly woman who loves people; but even more than people, she loves her God.
